Red Dune Guest Farm

Red Dune Camp is situated on a rather high, red Kalahari dune with a view down both sides of the dune and over the other dunes into infinity. A real beautiful setting, with water and ablution facilities. The loo has a view over the dunes and its actually a flush toilet!

Ther's a nice, big braai and cooking slab, with a bar-like facility for the drinksmaster to operate with. A wind shield has been erected with wooden poles, leaving too much opportunity for wind to pass through. An additional layer of reeds will definitely solve that problem. That is the only improvement I can suggest in this camp.

Not far from the main camp, there is a smaller camp that will be suitable for a couple or a small group, to have almost perfect privacy. Then, another camp with a furnished safari tent, quite a distance away for those people who do not want to camp, but who still want to get the same in-nature feeling.

Other accommodation facilities are 5 grassed campsites and two B&B rooms at the farmyard for those who just want to pass by. There is also a shop where venison and drinks may be bought.

We also want to mention the friendly service we received here, with the owners going out of their way to make sure we have enough firewood for the cold spell when we were there. Also the beautiful venison we bought at very good prices. We really felt sorry to leave this camp. We will definitely be back!

We recommend Red Dune Guest Farm for an lonely and peaceful stayover as well as a longer visit of a few restful, relaxed and laid-back days.
