Barby Guest Farm is a unique holiday farm where one may stay over on the way to or from the Sossusvlei, Sesriem area of Namibia, or you may decide to spend a day or two to enjoy the quiet and tranquility that this ranch offers.
Due to the beautiful landscapes one see from the C27 between Helmeringhausen and Sossusvlei and Solitaire, this piece of road became one of the most popular routes from the South to the North of Namibia.
After passing through Helmeringhausen to stock up on food, fuel and drinks, one take the C27 and soon you find the notice in front of the entrance to Barby and its friendly owners, who created a very acommodating and unique camping space where non-campers can also enjoy accommodation between the stone-and-brick walls of the cottages on offer.
The camp has only three camping sites, widely spaced for privacy, one central ablution block and three cottages with showers, a double bed and separate sleeping space for two extra people.
Activities include walking on the farm, as well as taking 4x4 drives and maybe even some hunting if you can twist the owner's arm effectively.
Lastly, we want to mention the friendly service we received here. Also the beautiful venison and mutton we bought at very good prices. We will definitely be back.
We recommend Barby Guest Farm Guest Farm for an peaceful and quiet stayover as well as for longer visits.
