Camping Sites and Caravan Stands in Southern Africa

Bergwonings Lodge offers camping facilities, with ablutions, for a maximum of 25 campers. Each site is equipped with it's own kitchenette & braai facilities. All sites with electrical power. The lodge nestles against the escarpment of the Maluti Mountains. Abseiling, 4X4 Trails, Clay Pigeon Shooting and Paint Ball are all on offer.Chalets also available.

Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Maluti Mountains of the north eastern Free State lies the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Caravan and camping sites in beautiful shaded grounds at Glen Reenen. Ablution and barbecue facilities, scullery. Power points in ablution block and some camp sites. A maximum of 6 persons, one caravan/tent and one vehicle or one auto villa permitted per site.

Meiringskloof itself consists of self-catering sandstone chalets and caravan/camping facilities located in a beautiful kloof surrounded by sandstone cliffs with open caves, thick indigenous bush and abundant bird life. To preserve the natural surroundings only a limited number of chalets and caravan/camping sites have been developed. It is advisable to book well in advance, especially for long weekends and school holidays.

The Little Rock Resort is istuated inthe beautiful Eastern Free State a the base of the Sandstone Moutains. Camping and Caravan sites available with meal options.

Biddulphsberg Mountain Resort offers caravan and tent stands. Wildlife sightseeing tours are available and an open truck can be requested for this purpose. The lapa can be rented for functions. Hunting opportunities, game viewing, and a walking trail. Self-catering accommodation also available.

Avondzon Holiday Estate offers a few camp sites and rock caves with ancient bushmen paintings, bird watching and small game. On top of the mountain there is an antenna for cell telephone communications, so the reception is perfect. Water is supplied from private wells and is of excellent quality. Chalets also available.

The caravan and camp site at Moreson Holiday and Game Ranch is sheltered by shady trees and overlooks the open plains where the game roam freely. There are 10 campsites each with a 20 amp powerpoint, shower, toilet wash basin and a washing-up facility, with hot and cold water. There is a restaurant adjacent to the lion camps, indoor heated pool, quad bikes, fishing and walking. Game viewing includes a variety of buck, and white rhino. Chalets also availalbe.
