Distance about 170 km.

The road to Phalaborwa was quick and easy with that real good bushveld feeling that gets better as one travel further from the big cities and towns. At the R71, one turns left towards the west and then again right at the Letaba Ranch indicator. This is the last piece of road, but as badly corrugated as any we experienced before. Luckily, it is not that very long, so we soon came to the turn-off to the right and the Letaba Ranch Office. ..

Buffelshoek to Ntomeni

Ntomeni Ntomeni is the ideal place for people who love self-catering and the Big Five experience.

Situated in the Great Letaba Game Reserve, which forms part of the greater Kruger National Park, you have all the advantages of going to the Kruger, with the added advantages of exclusivity and the absence of masses of other tourists who get between you and a peaceful nature experience.

To see animals, one can go on a game drive with the guides. One can also go on a game walk in the bush in the company of an armed ranger. Finally, you can see animals while staying in the camp, since the camp is not fenced and wild animals pass through the camp at will, adding to the excitement of camping in truly wild bush.

Accommodation The accommodation at Ntomeni consists of five luxury on-suite tents with beds and mattresses. One has to bring your own bedding, towels, etc.

The bathrooms are en-suite and have gas facilities to heat water befor you shower. There is no electricity in the camp, this being a true rustic bush camp. The kitchen facilities are in the lapa near the tents, where you can put your food and drinks in a fridge or two freezers. There is also water for washing and cooking

Cooking is on gas stoves in pots and pans provided by the camp. Cutlery and plates and dishes are also provided.

Activities include Bird watching, Game viewing in the camp, game drives (day or night or combined) and game walks.
