Bald Ibis camp.

Although Bald Ibis is not a camping grounds, but a Hikers camp as well as a venue for weddings and other things, the friendly owner may allow you to camp there if it is possible. It is a beautiful place to make your camp. It has a wonderful view of the mountain, you camp on green lawn, there is electricity and the price is affordable. A pleasure to stay over. Mountaineers and hikers will love the place.

Highmoor Mountain Camp

Highmoor Nature Reserve is situated in the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park's Central Region and is between Kamberg and Lotheni to the South and Giants Castle to the North. It is a haven to trout fishers. Visitors like the incredible sense of freedom emanating from the wide landscapes of mountains, grasslands and streams. Highmoor has seven tastefully concealed campsites which are reputed to be the highest campsites in KwaZulu-Natal. Highmoor does get very cold, so do come prepared.

Injisuthi Camp in the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park

Injisuthi Camp.

Injisuthi is in the northern section of the Giant's Castle area of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park. This hutted camp is cradled between the Injisuthi and Cowl Fork rivers at the head of the Injisuthi Valley. It is surrounded by magnificent scenery and is dominated by Cathkin Peak, Monk's Cowl and Champagne Castle. Injisuthi is a hikers and a campers heaven with several hiking trails starting there and one of the most beautiful and well-kept camping sites in the country.

Royal Natal Drakensberg Park

Royal Natal boasts some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Africa. The main feature is the world famous Amphitheatre, a rock wall five km in length, and 500m high. Above the amphitheatre is Mont-aux-Sources peak where the Thukela river cascades down the face of the amphitheatre, in one of the highest waterfalls in the world, on its way to the Indian ocean. One can hike up to the mountain by means of a pair of chain ladders.

Biddulphsberg Farm Resort

Biddulphsberg Farm Resort is situated near Senekal in the Free State. The main attraction here is the mountain called Biddulphsberg, which means "Biddulph's Mountain". The views from the mountain is very rewarding and unique to this part of the country - smaller sized kopjes with large stretches of lowland in between. The climb up the mountain can be comleted within a leisurely five hours with the views ample reward for your trouble.
