This new National Park is the newest national asset of the National Parks in South Africa. Mokala is the Tswana word for the Camel Thorn tree (Acacia erioloba) that is common in this area. Camping sites are under beautiful camelthorn trees. Endangered species like temperamental Black Rhino, White Rhino and elusive Roan Antelope, Tsesebe, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe and Sable are to be seen. We have ablution with hot water, scullery, restaurant , a shop and braai facilities.
The Resort facilities include tent and caravan stands, with 38 grassed sites with power points, modern ablutions with hot water, laundry and scullery facilities. We also offer pensioner discounts. This caravan park is situated 1 km from Kimberley city centre within walking distance from the Big Hole Open museum and relatively close to Magersfontein Battlefield, historical buildings, art galeries, golf course and tennis club.
There are ten sites. Each site is fitted with electrical points, and generous fireplaces with a light. The ablution facilities have hot and cold water. Water points close to sites. Scullery, shop and a swimming pool available. It is a scenic park, teeming with bird life, including the Namaqua sandgrouse, socialble weaver and Africa's smallest raptor - the pygmy falcon. We offer our visitors luxury accommodation. Self-catering accommodation available.
