Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Maluti Mountains of the north eastern Free State lies the Golden Gate Highlands National Park. Caravan and camping sites in beautiful shaded grounds at Glen Reenen. Ablution and barbecue facilities, scullery. Power points in ablution block and some camp sites. A maximum of 6 persons, one caravan/tent and one vehicle or one auto villa permitted per site.

Meiringskloof itself consists of self-catering sandstone chalets and caravan/camping facilities located in a beautiful kloof surrounded by sandstone cliffs with open caves, thick indigenous bush and abundant bird life. To preserve the natural surroundings only a limited number of chalets and caravan/camping sites have been developed. It is advisable to book well in advance, especially for long weekends and school holidays.

Mount Everest Game Reserve One of the campsites (one can choose from houses, huts or camping) is set in amongst the hilltops and is a wonderful base from which to spend a few days rock-climbing in the reserve, which include sport routes, single-pitch routes, easy and hard routes.

Sterkfontein Dam Nature Reserve has Caravan and Camping sites.

Leliehoek Pleasure Resort has 34 camp and Caravan sites; electrical connection; hot & cold water/electric lights/power points; laundry.

The Little Rock Resort is situated in the beautiful Eastern Free State at the base of the Sandstone Moutains. There are 32 Caravan sites available, all with electricity.

Make yourself comfortable in the campsite of BassFeather Country Lodge with excellent ablution and recreation facilities available, including a community centre and big screen and DSTV

At Arizona Game Lodge caravan stands with electricity and braai facilities are available. The Buffalo Inn Restaurant serves a la carté meals in one of the most picturesque licenced restaurants in South Africa.

Biddulphsberg Mountain Resort offers caravan and tent stands. Wildlife sightseeing tours are available and an open truck can be requested for this purpose. The lapa can be rented for functions. Hunting opportunities, game viewing, and a walking trail. Self-catering accommodation also available.

Avondzon Holiday Estate offers a few camp sites and rock caves with ancient bushmen paintings, bird watching and small game. On top of the mountain there is an antenna for cell telephone communications, so the reception is perfect. Water is supplied from private wells and is of excellent quality. Chalets also available.

The caravan and camp site at Moreson Holiday and Game Ranch is sheltered by shady trees and overlooks the open plains where the game roam freely. There are 10 campsites each with a 20 amp powerpoint, shower, toilet wash basin and a washing-up facility, with hot and cold water. There is a restaurant adjacent to the lion camps, indoor heated pool, quad bikes, fishing and walking. Game viewing includes a variety of buck, and white rhino. Chalets also availalbe.
