Ongongo Hotsprings

Distance about 27 km.

Departing from Sesfontein, we were on the lookout for a general dealer to supplement some of our stock; especially of the liquid variety. The trip to Ongongo Hotsprings was uneventful. The last 6km from the turnoff to the campsite was quite rough. Rocky and bumpy. We found numerous Himba settlements, stalls selling firewood and local craft items.

Ongongohotsprings

Ongongo Hot Springs have for years been a place where Namibians used to spend holidays. Ongongo have a very good vibe and atmosphere. The place have several camping spots in natural surroundings and a beautiful pool in stunning natural setting.

Ongongo Hot springs offers a pub on the mountain where you can have a cold one on the hot Namibia days and nights.

The ablutions are very basic but functional. There's firewood available. Camping is at very affordable prices.
