Our Trip to Mankwe
Our trip from Kaziikini was short but very dusty, with lots of vehicles speeding about. We decided to also stay at Mankwe seeing we had such glowing reports on their campsite. It was a short trip and allowed for a peaceful day at Mankwe.
Kaziikini Community Camp to Mankwe Bush Lodge
At Mankwe accommodation is offered in en-suite safari tents and camping sites. Options include fully inclusive, fully catered self drive and self catered, self drive. Camping facilities are offered in spacious, private camp sites each with its own washing facilities.
Campsites are for the fully equipped 4x4 camper who likes to stay for a longer period or who needs a base outside the nearby Moremi or Chobe reserves. It is also suitable as an overnight on the way to one of the two reserves.
The campsites are very private and provide you with a bucket shower (a container to heat your water is supplied), a washbasin with cold water and a flush toilet. Groups of up to twenty people can camp at one site.
Campers are advised to collect their own firewood on the way to the camp or when out on a safari for the day.
Water in the tanks is not for drinking, campers are advised to bring their own drinking water and enough water containers.
Mankwe has its own concession area that lies alongside the parks without any fences between them, allowing game viewing trips. There is also a swimming pool and a pub where visitors can relax with a drink when the days get too hot.
