Located inside the Ai-Ais Richersveld transfrontier park, which is a treasure-chest containing some the world's richest desert flora and consist of miniature rock gardens, perfectly designed by nature, rugged kloofs, high mountains and dramatic landscapes where tiny succulents, mere pinpoints against a backdrop of surreal rock formations, revel in the moisture brought in by the early morning fog rolling in from the cold Atlantic Ocean.
Kokerboomkloof is one of the world's real majestic nature destinations where you can stay over and enjoy the sheer space and quiet that comes with the place.
Some of the world's biggest stones are lying around or heaped on small kopjes creating a surrealistic marsscape.
The camp consist of eight campsites serviced by dry toilets. There is no water, so make sure you bring water with.
The park is only accessible by means of a 4x4 vehicle, but vehicles with high clearances such as combi's and LDV's do travel in the park. Sedan vehicles are not permitted.
The Richtersveld climate is harsh and dry, with extreme temperatures of up to 53°C having been recorded in mid-summer. In summer,activity should be restricted to early mornings and late afternoons. Nights are cool, but may become chilly during winter. Heavy night time dew occurs in the park.
