Askham to Kalahari Trails
We stayed in the Bush Camp.
When you go to Kalahari Trails, you essentially get a piece of Kalahari with quite a lot of different modes of neat and clean accommodation and a woman.
The woman is a person who loved and studied the Kalahari's natural inhabitants for many years. She owns the piece of Kalahari and the tourism business she is running there. She is Professor Anne Rasa.
Being only about 30km from the park gate, this is an ideal place to use as a base in case you cannot get accommodation inside the park, but while you are there, it will suit you well to enquire about one of the educational dune trips she offers.
You will not be sorry! She brings the lives of the dune inhabitants to life in front of your eyes with her tracking and other knowledge of the nature of the Kalahari.
You can also treat yourself to a stay in one of her bush tents. Or you can stay over in the guesthouse in Kalahari luxury. Or you can make use of the camping facilities.
