Trip II (2012) Springbok to Die Mas near Kakamas - 297km 3 to 4 hours.

Today's ride may be considered by many as boring, but the monotonous landscape does actually change and taking note of that fact and watching the subtle and sometimes not so subtle changes can help towards keeping your mind busy. One can also cut the boredom short by staying over one night at Die Mas next to the Gariep River on your way to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.

Towns Passed

Pofadder is a small town which has shops and garages where you can stock up on supplies.

Die Mas is a working grape farm where they produce wine, brandy, raisins and other produce made from grapes. They also offer camping and accommodation in small huts. The camping is under huge, shady trees next to the Gariep River, enticing one to stay another night.

It will be worth your while to also join in a wine tasting experience to sample their wines, with their dessert wines some of my favourites.
