Tankwa Karoo National Park to Cape Nature Algeria Camp - 216km, four to five hour drive.

Today's ride is a long one through an area where there are little or no accommodation for nature tourists, so bite the bullet and push through to the park and know the destination will make up for the longish and sometimes boring drive. Normally accommodation can be found on www.linx.co.za, so I will include a link to each town's camping and accommodation facilities along the way.

The towns passed:

Clanwilliam is, apart from a handy place to replenish stocks, not of any major interest to nature tourists, except that it is near the beautiful Cedarberg mountains.

Algeria is only one of many camping and overnight spots in the Cedarberg Mountains. It is being managed by Cape Nature, which has a reputation for good management. They offer camping as well as self-catering huts. Algeria, next to the Rondegat (round hole) River is popular among hikers and mountaineers for accommodation on their forays into nature.
